Palm T|X

First Impressions

After purchasing my first smart phone, a Palm 755p, I became immediately attracted to the PDA phenomenon of this information age. PDA's, or Personal Digital Assistants, started gaining popularity when one was first used back in 1992 by Apple Computer CEO John Sculley. A PDA is a palmtop computer that has the capability to access the internet, play audio and video, and many of them are touch screen. However, only one non-phone PDA caught my attention - the Palm T|X.

I was already familiar with one Palm product and knew I wouldn't be disappointed when I embarked on my journey to find a Palm T|X. When I finally found it, I was more than impressed with it's compact design and 4 inch diagonal screen. Although my T|X came with a flip cover to protect my screen, I decided to purchase a full leather cover for all around protection. After getting my new toy home, I was anxious to see how the integrated Wi-Fi with bluetooth technology would work. Connecting it to my home network was a breeze and the speed was surprisingly fast.

A Versatile PDA

In addition to being an excellent PDA for anyone of any age to own, the Palm T|X is great to play your MP3 music selections. I stored my favorite tracks on a 2GB expansion card and played them back with absolute clarity. For optimum sound, I have paired my Palm T|X with a set of Sony noise reduction headphones for that live, at the concert vibe. The Pocket Tunes media player that comes pre-loaded on the T|X is just as good as any and even displays the album artwork of the track I am playing back.

If that isn't amazing enough, the Palm T|X has vivid color that allows me to see distinct details in my photos and video playback. With a 320x480 pixel resolution and 65,000 color display, playing games on this device becomes easily addictive. There is a plethora of freeware and shareware games and other software available at websites such as Freeware Palm that enabled me to customize my T|X just the way I wanted it. This PDA is certainly worthy of your consideration. If you've never owned a PDA, I recommend the Palm T|X over all others.

I'm not big on the photos and video when it comes to PDAs, the biggest draw for me is not having to kill thousands upon thousands of trees to keep my life organized.
